Loan applications are considered by the credit union Loans Officer or by the Credit Committee.

In deciding whether or not to grant the loan, the committee or the loans officer will take into account the members need and his/her record of savings and repayments, as well as the ability to repay.

Each Credit Union has its own policy on the conditions which should be met before a loan is granted.

Once the loan has been granted, the member will be asked to complete a promissory note (which is a legally binding document on which the member promises to repay the loan) and to commit to regular repayments.

If the member falls behind in his/her repayments, they may be asked to reschedule their repayments to suit their current circumstances. Our loans officer and credit control officer is always willing to meet and discuss your individual difficulties and reach an agreement.
